Another Interesting one !
Left Mexico City Airport one hour late. Don't know what was the problem.
Felt worried as I had a 3:15 pm pick up to the centre (Horsley court outside of London) for a 1:50 pm arrival.
Giving myself 1:25 minutes for immigration and luggage. As there will be a 15 pound charge for every 15 minutes of waiting time by the taxi service. Aiyo... expensive.
Since this is so far out of London this service was better then a normal taxi.
As they don't really know the place. As the recommended service by the company has a good arrangement with the transport provider.
Wasn't a good start. Btw, flying BA. Luckily there was a tail wind which helped. Arrive @ 2:10 pm with 1 5 minutes holding pattern. OK considering the delay.
The Gate Story.
While arriving at the gate there was an auxiliary power failure on the plane which meant the plane couldn't dock at the gate. Had to wait 10 minutes. Aiyo! 2:30pm got off the plane via the stairs. There was only one bus waiting. Aiyo another delay. But luckily flying business get to get off first (heh heh heh...) otherwise further delays. Managed to get on the bus. Arrived at the terminal no fast track lane for immigration.
The lane snaked for about 5 turns... Aiyo.... already 2:40 pm. Only had 35 minutes to clear immigration and luggage. Still waiting, still waiting. After that gave in and didn't bother and was prepared for the worst.
What to do had to patiently wait and hope the line would move faster.
Saw some people had immigration issues. A lot of questions and then had further questioning separately. Security @ heathrow is tight after the last incidents in Aug/September time. So of course more delays....
Finally... Just asked what are you doing here etc. Showed my returned ticket and stamped...
Cleared immigration @ 3:09 pm, walked quickly to luggage carousel area. Saw my bag. Still in tack. Walk out @ 3:13 pm with 2 minutes to spare.
